Position Purpose
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner with Evolved Ways, you will play a meaningful role in empowering people with disability to live safer, more autonomous, and more fulfilling lives. Working within the framework of the NDIS, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred behaviour support services to NDIS participants.
In this part-time or full-time role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and develop Behaviour Support Plans that emphasize proactive, strengths-based strategies. Your work will support participants to develop adaptive skills, achieve their goals, and reduce or eliminate the need for restrictive practices.
You will collaborate with participants, their families, and support networks, providing assessment, planning, intervention, and training to enhance understanding and confidence in responding to challenging behaviours. This position offers the opportunity to create lasting positive change, foster personal growth, and promote greater independence for the people you support.
Evolved Ways is based in the Scenic Rim; however we deliver services across Southeast Queensland, from the Sunshine Coast to the southern Gold Coast, and from the Redlands to Toowoomba, with most participants located in Brisbane. We welcome Behaviour Support Practitioners from all areas of Southeast Queensland.

No two days are the same however, over time you will
- Conduct assessments and write plans (interim, safety and risk, functional behaviour) to understand participants and their environments and interpersonal connections.
- Collaborate with participants, their families, and support teams to develop Behaviour Support Plans and end of plan reports, that focus on positive outcomes, skill-building, and behaviour intervention.
- Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to reduce challenging behaviours, with a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement, skill development, and person-centered approaches.
- Provide training and support to participants, their families, and support workers to promote a shared understanding of positive behaviour support principles.
- Develop data collection tools, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and make necessary adjustments to PBSPs to achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, progress reports, and any incident reports as required by NDIS guidelines and regulations.
- Deliver comprehensive services to participants within their allocated budgets, clearly communicating how services will be provided to establish mutual expectations.
- Comply with the NDIS’s rules on reportable incidents and support formal and informal supports to understand their obligations to do the same.
- Work collaboratively with participants, informal supports and service providers.
- Engaged in and support a culture of continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Actively and constructively contribute to a team setting though open and respectful communication and by supporting others to participate in a positive work culture.
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Education, Nursing, other).
- NDIS registration as a Core practitioner or above (you must have a behaviour practitioner suitability endorsement letter from NDIS QSC).
- Minimum six months experience as a registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Experience in working collaboratively and resolving challenges, relationship-ruptures, or barriers with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for participants.
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to manage complex relationships.
- High level of computer literacy (particularly Microsoft systems) and time-bound administrative task management.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
- Disclosure of any health conditions that may affect the ability to perform the role safely.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property).
- Obtain and maintain a valid NDIS worker screening clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld) and Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
