The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019.
We work to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system.

About the Team
We are seeking to fill this role in the Digital Operations Team, Digital Operations plays a key part in shaping the Digital Landscape the Commission uses to deliver on its objectives.
The Digital Operations Team contributes to the Section's objectives by ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of the Commission's digital infrastructure and systems, utilising best practices in implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and end of life management.
By optimising performance, reliability and resiliency, we support the delivery of services to the Commission's users.
About the Role
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing cloud-based systems to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of the Commission's cloud environment, backup systems, and Microsoft 365 services.
This role involves leveraging expertise in cloud services (Azure/AWS), infrastructure, server management, and database administration, the Cloud Engineer plays a key role in project delivery, SME escalations for incident response, and continuous improvement aligned with the Commission's cloud-first principle and Essential 8 recommendations.
Additionally, the position requires proficiency in virtualization, storage platforms, and networking technologies to support the development of new features and services, as well as the resolution of system issues.
Knowledge and experience in cloud networking, automation, and AI for Operations is highly desirable.
Position Duties
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, security, and continuous improvement of cloud-based systems.
As our Cloud SME, key responsibilities include:
· Cloud & System Administration: Administering and managing MS Cloud services (Identity, Exchange, Teams, Intune, SharePoint, etc.).
· Cloud Networking: Participate in the design, deployment and maintenance of cloud network infrastructure.
· Technical Support & Projects: Serving as a technical SME for ICT Operations, providing guidance on cloud computing security requirements, and supporting new technology implementations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
· Security & Compliance: Collaborating with IT Security to align SOE security hardening with PSPF, ISM, ACSC, CIS, and DTA Protected pattern guidelines.
· Automation & Deployment: Developing and enhancing automated processes for reliable solution deployment; managing application packaging and deployment via Intune with IT Security endorsement.
· Device Evaluations & System Monitoring: Participating in ICT Operations device evaluations and ensuring applications and infrastructure perform efficiently.
· AI for Operations: Using skills and experience to prepare ICT Operations for the continued adoption and utilisation of AI.
Position Eligibility Requirements(Selection Criteria):
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
· A bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
· Microsoft Azure and 365 training and certifications are desirable.
· Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation including system designs and governance, change requests, SOP's and knowledge base articles.
· Experience in overseeing system upgrades and rollouts, ensuring minimal disruption.
· Ability to provide effective training to users and promote system proficiency.
· Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
· Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, prioritization, and incident management.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
· Ability to contribute to projects and initiatives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
· As the cloud SME, provide advice and guidance to the team and fostering continuous learning and team growth.
· Must hold a minimum Baseline clearance.
Position Notes:
· Salary offered will be between$96,503 to $108,869per annum depending on skills and experience.
In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
· Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply.
Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
