We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead the delivery of finance and compliance services across a range of Australian clients. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping operations, ensuring accurate reporting, managing small teams, and working closely with internal and client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Manage bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations
* Oversee BAS, IAS, STP submissions, TPAR, and other compliance reporting
* Review financial reports to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
* Manage and support a team of bookkeepers or junior accountants
* Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards
* Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
* Support financial reporting and contribute to operational efficiency
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping or accounting
* At least 2 years in a team lead or review role
* Strong knowledge of Australian tax, payroll, and superannuation regulations
* Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks
* Excellent communication and time management skills
* Ability to manage multiple client portfolios
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
* CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus
