Introduction to the Role
Metso is seeking a Production Support Officer who will process production orders and purchasing to support Fabrication and Assembly East supply chain manufacturing locations, driving efficiency and ensuring on‐time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Understand supply chain manufacturing facility practices to ensure smooth end‐to‐end processes.
* Target key cost drivers within the supply chain to reduce procurement costs.
* Liaise with project management, production and other functions to specify procurement needs and efficiently process purchase orders.
* Collect necessary vendor quality paperwork.
* Respond promptly to expediting requests from internal stakeholders to meet end‐customer requirements.
* Negotiate vendor pricing and procure materials according to supply chain estimates and customer requirements.
* Configure and maintain order processing, including setting up bill of materials and routings to minimise impact on customers and supply locations.
* Use SAP as a key user for transactional processing in line with company procedures.
* Assist in testing changes and improvements within the supply chain systems.
* Participate in team problem‐solving activities and contribute to knowledge management.
* Handle interactions with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure on‐time delivery of products.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
* Well‐developed analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a process‐driven mindset.
* Proficiency with SAP and the ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
* Experience in internal sales or supply‐chain manufacturing practices.
