The Role
Cockburn Cement is seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead to join our Dongara operations, providing leadership across maintenance, reliability, and safe operation of our Lime Sand Processing Plant and Kiln.
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, this position plays a critical role in ensuring plant reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across complex fixed processing assets. You will lead a multi-disciplinary maintenance team while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, efficient, and reliable kiln operations.
This role suits a hands-on maintenance leader with strong experience in heavy industry, mineral processing, or continuous manufacturing environments who enjoys balancing people leadership, technical problem solving, and operational delivery.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance workforce across mechanical, electrical and contractor teams
* Plan and deliver preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities
* Coordinate and safely execute shutdowns, major repairs and capital improvement works
* Maintain high standards of safety, environmental and statutory compliance
* Monitor asset performance and drive reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage maintenance planning systems, contractors and maintenance budgets
* Support efficient and reliable kiln and fixed plant operation
What You Will Need to Succeed
* Engineering Degree or Mechanical/Fabrication Trade qualification
* Proven maintenance leadership experience within 24/7 processing or heavy industrial environments
* Strong understanding of reliability and asset maintenance principles (RCM, RCA, FMEA)
* Experience delivering preventative and predictive maintenance programs
* Exposure to shutdowns and capital project execution
* Experience using maintenance management systems (SAP preferred)
* Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
* WA Statutory Supervisor Certificate of Competency
* Certificate IV in Leadership (highly regarded)
* Competence in risk management and Microsoft Office systems
* Exposure to control systems (e.g. Citect) advantageous
