About the role Join a highly regarded General Insurance practice within a leading national law firm, working across a diverse mix of casualty and professional indemnity matters. You’ll work on an interesting and broad mix of casualty and professional indemnity claims, specialising in the provision of coverage and risk management advice, and the defence of public liability, product liability, professional indemnity and third‑party property damage claims, as well as statutory claims brought by workers and the Victorian WorkCover Authority. What’s on offer Competitive market salary achievable bonus program Flexible working arrangements Transparent promotion pathways and strong career progression Paid parental leave Ability to purchase up to 10 additional days of annual leave each year Financial support for further study (fees study leave) Access to novated leasing Genuine work-life balance What you'll be doing Advising on a broad range of general insurance matters across public liability, property damage, professional indemnity, product liability and statutory liability claims Providing coverage advice and risk management support to insurers and corporate clients Managing your own file load with autonomy, while supervising and delegating to junior lawyers Working closely with Partners on complex claims to deepen your expertise Building and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives What we're looking for 4 years’ PAE in insurance law / litigation and/or commercial dispute resolution Background in defence work and providing coverage advice Ability to manage files autonomously while effectively delegating tasks Excellent drafting skills with the ability to communicate clearly in plain English Strong interpersonal skills and confidence dealing with clients, insurers and courts A proactive, “can-do” attitude and a collaborative team mindset Genuine interest in developing your career within the insurance sector About our client Our client is a highly respected national law firm with a General Insurance team recognised for its technical excellence, strong client relationships and commitment to developing talent at all levels.
