A leading global proprietary trading firm is seeking an experienced Technology Risk Analyst to join its Compliance Technology function in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology risk, regulatory compliance, and SDLC audits, with a deep understanding of trading environments across multiple asset classes.
Role Overview
In this role, you'll partner closely with Compliance, Technology, and Trading teams to assess and improve technology risk management processes. You will support audits, trading control frameworks, technology process reviews, regulatory reporting, and compliance monitoring, particularly within APAC markets.
This is a high-impact position offering exposure to advanced trading systems, global markets, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
 * Assess and monitor technology risks across APAC operations.
 * Conduct SDLC audits with a focus on Agile practices and continuous improvement.
 * Support trading control design and implementation.
 * Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
 * Produce and present detailed risk reports, incident analyses, and recommendations.
 * Monitor emerging risks and regulatory developments.
 * Collaborate with global teams to implement and enhance risk frameworks.
Requirements
 * 8+ years of experience in a technology risk, IT audit, or compliance-focused role.
 * Strong knowledge of IT controls, risk frameworks, and regulatory standards.
 * Experience with enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks.
 * Familiarity with software development lifecycles and technology operations in Agile environments.
 * Bachelor's or higher degree in a technology, business, or risk-related field.
 * Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
 * Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
Preferred Experience
 * Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in technology risk or related areas.
 * Background in trading firms, investment banks, or financial institutions.
 * Knowledge of electronic trading regulations and trading system controls.
 * Experience with trading message analysis and order lifecycle understanding.
 * Skills in Python and/or SQL for data analysis.
 * Business Continuity Planning (BCP) development and testing experience.
