Environmental Health & Safety Delivery Specialist (Senior Level)
Hourly rate equivalent to $120,000-$130,000 + super (12-month temporary assignment), with the potential to transition into an ongoing role subject to performance and business needs.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
In this role, you will lead the implementation of the Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provide hands‐on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant. Require proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job‐related training and considerable on‐the‐job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Implements detailed, task‐level, day‐to‐day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.
* Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline.
* Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
* Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues.
* Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.
* Focal point in developing and achieving site EH&S goals.
* Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
* Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analysing and reporting for the Plant.
* Facilitates/participates in EH&S incident investigations.
* Interfaces with regulatory authorities for inspections, inquiries, audits and permit.
* Participates in emergency response activities.
* Provides EH&S training development and delivery, EH&S auditing, EH&S management of change review, and delivery of EH&S programs.
About you
* Hands‐on experience in IH and EH&S systems in manufacturing setting.
* Ability to interpret internal and external regulations/standards into practical applications in the field.
* Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively with different workgroups on site.
* Proactive problem solving.
* Detail‐oriented.
* Technologically savvy and strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
* Desirable – ability to use IH equipment: sound level meter, dosimeter, anemometer, photoionization detectors (PID) and detector tubes.
Qualifications and experience
* Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in EH&S, manufacturing, or related field.
* Equivalent hands‐on experience in a safety‐focused role within manufacturing.
