Base salary $67,587 – $74,394 plus 17% superannuation (HEW Level 3)
Based at our picturesque St Lucia campus in the Legal Services Division
About This Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic and reliable Law Clerks to join a high-performing in-house legal team at UQ. In this role you'll gain hands-on experience supporting UQ's lawyers across a diverse range of legal matters, contributing to the delivery of high-quality legal services within a complex and dynamic university environment.

Key Responsibilities
Work under general supervision to provide high-quality support to the legal team within tight timeframes.
Undertake legal research across a broad range of practice areas and summarise findings for lawyers.
Assist lawyers with a variety of matters, including drafting legal advice, reviewing documents, and liaising with internal clients and external stakeholders.
Draft and revise a range of legal documents, such as research agreements, confidentiality agreements, student placement agreements, licences, and commercial contracts.
Prepare and collate materials including chronologies, briefs to counsel, and updates to legal templates and client resources.
Manage competing priorities effectively, maintain clear communication with supervisors, and ensure all deadlines are met.

About You
Completion of Year 12.
Demonstrated legal study and/or experience working in a legal practice.
Demonstrated ability to undertake legal research and present findings in a clear, logical manner.
Thorough knowledge of legal databases and resources.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Effective time-management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
The successful candidate may be required to complete pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment. Employer-sponsored work rights are not available.
