About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering Manager to join our AUKUS Program based at Adelaide.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as hybrid working.
Reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager, you will be leading a team of Data Engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines and storage systems.
* Implement data architecture and data modelling strategies across cloud/on-prem/hybrid platforms.
* Ensure data lineage, metadata management, and quality practices are in place.
* Support real-time and batch data ingestion with role-based access control.
* Collaborate with analytics and integration teams to ensure reliable data availability.
* Enforce encryption, masking, and storage controls per export control requirements.
About You
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
* Demonstrated experience working as a Data Engineering Manager with proven track record of successfully leading a team of Data Engineering professionals
* Good understanding of how Business to Business information flow occurs
* Significant experience in designing and maintaining data repositories to allow data to be analysed quickly and efficiently within the agreed governance frameworks
* Degree level qualification in Data Engineering / Data Science
* Significant experience in modern data modelling methodologies
* Demonstrated experience in managing diverse temporal state data requirements
* Defence Security clearance or eligibility to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance & ITAR clearance required
