Logistics Specialist, Data Center Operations

Role overview : Logistics specialists play a vital role in AWS by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution includes maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centres, managing the custody of computer hardware through its lifecycle, receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor.
You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities, while adhering to safety, security and availability tenets.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining inventory levels to ensure stock items are available to support build and repair activities.
* Receiving parts, checking shipments and issuing parts as needed for internal customers.
* Loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different sites.
* Maintaining accurate stock records for all items within our care.
* Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces using 5S principles.
A day in the life
In this hands-on role, your day will involve logistical support functions for Data Centers, including physical control and processing of spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and cycle counting of stock. Some travel between sites is required; own transport may be necessary. You may need to go into the Data Center after hours and on weekends on occasions.

Basic Qualifications
* Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics
Preferred Qualifications
* 1+ years of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices experience
* Can lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances
