Remuneration and Eligibility
* Remuneration: $168,578 to $194,406 per annum (LEVC). This includes a base salary of $142,451 to $164,275 per annum, 17% superannuation, and 17.5% recreation leave loading.
* Open to: Current staff members of QUT with full‐time work rights in Australia. Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people who are not QUT staff are also eligible and encouraged to apply.

Role Overview
The Senior Research Fellow (Elements and Isotopes) provides academic leadership of the Elements and Isotopes Laboratory and supports day‐to‐day operations of the facilities and services in the Central Analytical Research Facility (CARF). The role requires extensive technical knowledge of ICPMS for a range of sample types and a research track record using these technologies.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Elements and Isotopes Laboratory, ensuring effective day‐to‐day operations.
* Serve as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including QUT academics, professional staff, students, and external clients.
* Engage with users, provide information or products to meet their research needs, and maintain a high level of service.
* Undertake independent research focused on the capabilities of instrumentation.
* Seek and secure research funding from government agencies and commercial partners interested in CARF services.
* Collaborate closely with allied CARF laboratories such as Sample Preparation and X‐ray.
Qualifications
* Doctoral qualifications or evidence of equivalent advanced qualifications in chemistry, physics, geology or materials science.
* A nationally recognised research profile with a record of scholarly and professional achievement, including peer‐reviewed publications and funded research.
* Demonstrated leadership, external engagement and impact beyond QUT.
* Experience in multi‐user research service laboratories and a proven record of delivering products or reports within stated time frames.
* Ability to design and deliver in‐person and online workshops and training modules.
* Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
* Collaborative problem‐solving skills and experience brokering research and commercial collaborations.
