Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to our project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining commercial information, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and achieving the company's objectives.
About the Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the project team, working closely with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues. This includes agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments.
Key Responsibilities
* Reporting:
* Ensure accurate cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
* Carry out cost management including forecasting.
* Update the monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
* Processes:
* Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit.
* Actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
* External Relationships:
* Ensure that main contracts entered have appropriate terms and conditions.
* Foster good client relationships.
* Internal Relationships:
* Assist in managing the commercial team.
* Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and operational site teams.
Requirements
* HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
* Previous experience in the civil engineering industry.
* Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and knowledge of current Construction Law.
* Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
* Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
