About the Role
We are seeking the talents of a committed operational professional to join the team at MAC in the capacity of Superintendent Load & Haul. Reporting to the Manager Mining Production you will enable the Load and Haul teams to achieve the safe delivery of iron ore to the WAIO supply chain as well as managing change through the MAC fleet transition to incorporate Komatsu 930E Trucks, and the ongoing deployment of Autonomous Haulage. Your ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of key stakeholders across the BHP business will be integral to your success.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate safety and operational performance and drive change to achieve safety, cost and volume targets through processes, equipment, and technology initiatives
* Provision of insightful productivity analysis and governance of data in line with the BHP Time Usage Model to enable informed outcomes by Mining leadership
* Implement corrective actions to resolve the root cause of complex operational risks/deficiencies and prevent re-occurrence
* Meet Supply Chain requirements and continually evaluate and implement opportunities to improve
* Embed BOS practices across the team - Implement improvements that guide teams to focus on activities that add value
* Mentor Supervisors and Technical personnel to develop broad skillsets in the team
* Conduct regular improvement reviews/assessments to support teams to capture, track and implement improvement ideas for all routine activities on site
* Partner with relevant operational and functional teams (e.g., HSE, Risk) to develop and govern site standards/procedures
* Consider and explain the risk implications of different alternatives and using this to support effective and informed outcomes
About You
You will be an experienced Operational Leader ideally with a background in either Production, Planning, or Maintenance. You are extremely output focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships.
As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following:
* Demonstrated experience in a similar level role
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a related discipline is preferable however not essential
* Solution focused with the ability to work well under pressure
* A genuine passion for fostering an inclusive workplace that is free from harassment, discrimination, and victimisation
* The ability to leverage the operating system and work effectively with others and provide constructive feedback where appropriate
