Position: Full Time Location: Gold Coast, QLD Salary: $ 75,000 - $ 85,000 + Superannution Habitat Landscape Design is a passionate, design-led landscaping business specialising in the creation of beautiful, functional, and sustainable spaces across the Gold Coast. We work closely with homeowners, builders, and developers to deliver tailored landscape and architectural solutions from concept plans through to detailed master plans ready for construction. We are seeking a full-time Architectural Drafter to join our collaborative and creative team.
About the Role You will play a key role in translating design concepts into high-quality technical drawings and detailed CAD plans for residential landscape projects. Working closely with the lead designer, you will contribute to projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale landscape masterplans.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed drawings that support the delivery of residential landscape and construction projects. You will work closely with the design team to convert concepts into clear, compliant, and buildable documentation suitable for approval and construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed CAD drawings, site layouts, and construction documentation for residential projects
* Translate design concepts into technical plans, sections, and specifications suitable for construction
* Develop drawings that incorporate levels, materials, finishes, and structural landscape elements (e.g. paving, retaining structures, drainage)
* Ensure documentation aligns with relevant codes, standards, and local council requirements
* Assist in the preparation of drawings for development applications, approvals, and construction use
* Revise and update plans based on feedback from designers, consultants, and contractors, time and costs.
* Maintain accuracy, consistency, and proper documentation control across project stages
Qualifications and experience
* Relevant Diploma level qualification or higher
* At least one or two years’ experience as an Architectural Drafter / Draftsperson (landscape or residential preferred)
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar drafting software)
* Strong understanding of construction documentation and technical detailing
* Ability to interpret design concepts and translate them into practical plans
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively
