Assistant Accountant
Assistant Accountant duties and responsibilities
* Supporting senior accountants and the finance team generally
* Routine book-keeping, including maintenance of the general ledger and reconciliation of accounts
* Ensuring timely and accurate completion of invoices and payments, sales receipts, purchase orders
* Verification of financial records
* Preparation of accounting documentation
* Issuance of payroll checks
* General administrative duties as required by senior staff
Assistant Accountant skills and qualifications
* Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and the ability to produce accurate financial reports
* Advanced mathematical competency, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to spot errors
* Discretion in handling confidential or sensitive financial data
* The ability to meet strict reporting deadlines on multiple assignments
* Familiarity with finance regulations relevant to the industry and jurisdiction of the organisation and Australian Accounting Standards
