We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Project Engineer to join our BENDIGO team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Engineer will support and coordinate the technical and delivery aspects of recently awarded projects, assisting in driving successful outcomes across scope, quality, schedule and cost.
This role plays an integral part in project execution—supporting planning, engineering, documentation, procurement coordination, and stakeholder communication—while contributing to the continued growth of our business.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide engineering and project support to ensure tasks are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality.
* Prepare and maintain work plans, schedules, and engineering documentation.
* Assist with identifying resource requirements and support procurement activities.
* Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure coordinated and efficient project progress.
* Monitor project budgets and assist operational stakeholders with cost control.
* Support the processing of variations within delegated authority.
* Coordinate and track the supply of materials and parts in line with project schedules.
* Promote and uphold a strong safety culture with proactive WHS&E engagement.
* Provide hands-on engineering support, problem-solving, and practical design/production-related input where required.

You Will Have
* Above all else – drive, energy and a practical, hands-on approach.
* A solid grounding in mechanical engineering—either trade-based or tertiary qualification.
* Demonstrated project engineering experience (2–5+ years preferred).
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
Highly Regarded (but not essential):
* Experience with 2D or 3D drafting (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
* Experience using coordinate measuring systems (CMMs, laser scanners or similar) for inspection or reverse engineering.
* Previous experience in rail or transport-related manufacturing environments.
