$124,156 to $131,215 per annum

Full time, Continuous Contract

About the role

The Senior Occupational Therapist – NDIS Services provides culturally responsive, high-quality occupational therapy services for Aboriginal people living with disability. Responsibilities include clinical leadership and mentoring, overseeing caseloads, leading quality improvement projects, and supporting the development of the NDIS Allied Health Service.

The role is primarily based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs); occasional remote travel may be a requirement of this position.

What are we looking for?

Someone to fit our team with the following requirements:

* Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated experience in an Occupational Therapist leadership role including the provision of clinical supervision and implementation of quality improvement activities.
* Proven skills in the assessment and therapeutic intervention for broad range of functional impairments, with a focus on physical, cognitive and emotional development.
* Demonstrated experience working with a broad range of clients from varying socioeconomic backgrounds in manner that is child focussed, family centred and trauma-informed.
* Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history; knowledge of factors influencing the health and lives of Aboriginal people and families in Central Australia.
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
* Current NT Driver Licence or equivalent or the ability to obtain.
* (Desirable) Identifies as an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
* (Desirable) Post-graduate education in public health, remote health, or other relevant domain;
* (Desirable) Experience in working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation;
* (Desirable) Comprehensive knowledge of NDIS funding requirements.
