mckimm is seeking an exceptional Project Architect/Draftsperson with a 5-year's Town Planning & Working Drawings experience to join our studio!
While we are based in Brighton, Victoria, we are currently working on bespoke residential, multi-residential, and mixed-use projects across Australia and in Dubai. Our busy studio houses an energetic design team and we looking for an exceptional individual to join us.
If you’re passionate about design, and innovation, and are proficient in Revit and AutoCAD software, this role is for you.
Reporting to the Design Directors, you will be approaching tasks with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
* Preparing, collating, and organising plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, and details in Town Planning and Working Drawings packages
* Attending site visits, recording minutes, and taking photographs
* Being highly competent in Revit and AutoCAD software
* Investigating site and building surveys and regulatory requirements, responding to checklists, and providing information to obtain permits
* Coordinating detailed design information with the broader project team, including but not limited to overlaying structural, civil, and mechanical designs into the primary architectural drawing model
* Liaising with interior designers and working in a shared Revit model with the project team
* Preparing specifications for construction work
* Preparing drawings, plans, and documents for statutory approvals
* Preparing application forms and administration items for approval by regulatory bodies
* Responding to ongoing RFIs from construction sites in a timely manner
* Researching new design processes, building legislation, and technology
* Communicating clearly with internal and external project teams
Requirements
* Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or similar
* Ability to work from the office in Brighton, Victoria
* 5 years’ experience in the residential design sector in Australia
* Strong planning, time-management, and organisation skills
* Analytical mind with problem-solving ability
* The ability to work individually and as part of a team
