Job Description
* Lead the management of overall system requirements, including identification, allocation, traceability, and compliance
* Define and manage system, subsystem, and external interfaces in line with project scope
* Deliver and assure system architecture, onboard functionalities, and vehicle/system integration
* Plan, prepare, and execute factory and site testing, including verification and validation activities
* Ensure compliance with V&V plans, systems integration documentation, and contractual requirements
* Apply recognised systems engineering and safety standards across projects
* Support rail safety assurance activities, including safety case development
* Promote standardised, efficient technical solutions and continuous improvement across projects
* Share lessons learned and contribute to the evolution of systems integration standards
* Act as a trusted technical advisor in client‐facing environments, communicating complex concepts clearly
The Successful Applicant
* Degree qualified in engineering or a related discipline
* Significant experience operating at Senior or Principal level on rail‐related projects
* Strong background in systems engineering, integration, and assurance within rail environments
* Practical experience applying ISO/IEC 15288, CENELEC standards, and RAMS methodologies (EN 50126)
* Proven involvement in verification & validation, testing, and system integration activities
* A confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and delivery teams
* Strong technical writing skills, including reports and formal technical documentation
Highly Regarded
* Experience within ETCS and/or CBTC rail environments
* Membership of, or eligibility for, relevant professional bodies (e.g. INCOSE or equivalent)
