We need someone who designs systems and builds them. Who uses AI to move faster and demands the same from their team. Who sees architecture as a delivery tool, not a credential.
The Company
PartsCheck connects repairers with parts suppliers nationwide — simplifying quotations, purchasing, and receipting in one centralised platform. Market leader. Profitable. Genuinely essential to the industry it serves.
The Challenge
PHP and AWS today and .NET and React tomorrow. Not a rewrite — a deliberate, value‐continuous evolution. You'll hold both realities: a production system that thousands of businesses depend on daily, and the architecture that carries us through the next decade.
On AI
We're not interested in architects who treat AI as a threat or a novelty. We use AI tooling actively — Cursor, Claude, Copilot — and we want a technical leader who pushes that further. If you've figured out how to make a team significantly more productive through AI‐assisted development, we want to hear about it.
What You'll Be Doing
Define end‐to‐end platform architecture across PHP and emerging .NET systems
Write production code — prototypes, shared components, and the hardest problems
Champion AI‐accelerated development across the engineering team
Make high‐impact architectural decisions and document trade‐offs clearly
Lead design of complex integrations, data models, and platform capabilities
Coach senior engineers in architectural thinking and system design
Partner with the Head of Technology on technical strategy and roadmap
What We're Looking For
8–10+ years professional software development
Expert C# / .NET — you write code, not just diagrams
Minimum 5+ years hands‐on experience with C# and .NET development
Minimum 2+ years hands‐on AWS experience
React & TypeScript and/or Blazor on the frontend
PHP & MySQL experience valued
Active AI tool user — Cursor, Copilot, Claude, or equivalent
Proven ability to design modular, evolvable systems without over‐engineering
Security mindset with practical, not paranoid, experience
Pragmatic and delivery‐oriented — architecture that ships
Why This Role
Real architectural influence — not governance theatre
Hands‐on technical work — meaningful, hard problems
Stable & profitable business — essential industry
Brisbane‐based team — strong engineering culture
Shape the next decade — platform evolution at scale
If you're an architect who still loves to code, uses AI to ship faster, and wants to build something that actually matters — let's talk.
Your application will include the following questions:
* Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
* How many years' experience do you have as a Software Architect?
* How many years' experience do you have in a software development role?
