About the role
As a Senior Project Manager at SHAPE, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the safe, profitable and timely delivery of projects from pre‐construction through to completion of the defect liability period. As a senior leader within the project management team, you will drive operational excellence across multiple project stages, mentor and develop project teams, and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. This is a key role for an experienced construction professional who thrives on delivering high‐quality outcomes while leading with integrity, professionalism and a strong commitment to safety.
You will oversee
* The end‐to‐end delivery of projects from pre‐construction through to completion and defect liability
* Large scale projects valued around $500 million and above
* Construction programmes, trade lettings and subcontractor negotiations to achieve the best commercial outcomes
* Financial performance across projects, including cost reporting, forecasting, profitability and debtor management
* Project compliance across payment claims, risk management, contract management and project delivery systems
* Quality management, defect minimisation and adherence to SHAPE standards across all phases of delivery
* Strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships through clear communication and leadership
* The mentoring, coaching and development of Project Coordinators, Site Managers and wider project teams
* A positive safety culture and compliance with SHAPE's EHSQ systems, policies and procedures
About you
You are a highly capable and experienced construction professional with a strong track record of delivering commercial projects safely, profitably and on time. You bring a leadership mindset, sound commercial judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of a project. You are confident managing competing priorities, identifying risks and opportunities, and leading teams to achieve exceptional results. You take pride in your work, value fairness and accountability, and lead by example in driving both performance and culture.
You will bring
* 8+ years of experience in the building industry, with at least 7 years in project management within commercial construction
* Proven experience delivering projects valued at $10m+
* Strong knowledge of project methodology, cost reporting, programming and buildability
* Experience interpreting specifications and drawings for accuracy and construction feasibilityStrong understanding of head contracts, subcontracts and commercial project controls
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop high‐performing project teams
* A proactive approach to safety and a genuine commitment to EHSQ principles
* Strong capability across MS Office, Microsoft Project, JOBPAC and Procore
* A trade qualification or tertiary qualification in building, construction or a related discipline
* Experience in data centres or services‐heavy projects will be highly regarded, but not essential.
* A current Construction Industry Card
