Southern Cross Care QLD has an opportunity for a Gardener/Maintenance Officer to join our SCCQ family, working at our Caloundra Rise Retirement Estate in Little Mountain on the Sunshine Coast.

Role responsibilities
Working as part of our Gardening-Maintenance team, as a Gardener, you will work closely with the Estate Manager and the Gardeners to ensure the establishment and upkeep of the gardens and grounds within this Retirement Estate. To be successful in this role you will need to be approachable, reliable and bring enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to your work.
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
* Horticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring.
* Garden beds re-planting and maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions.
* Pruning of trees and shrubs.
* Lawn mowing, edging, fertilising and weeding.
* Clearing and removal of garden refuse.
* Path, drains and edge repair and maintenance.
* Ensuring that fences and retaining walls are maintained in good repair.
* Undertaking of routine repair work and maintenance within the site.
What you will bring
* Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or related field (highly regarded)
* Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardening
* Knowledge of trade resources and suppliers of materials
* Current manual driver's licence
* Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
