Program
Red Cross Shops sell new and donated clothing, accessories and homewares to raise funds to help people in need. Red Cross rescues more than 450 tonnes of clothing each year, supports over 5,000 volunteers, and generates vital funds to support vulnerable people across Australia and around the world. The Retail Distribution Centre in Derrimut plays an important role in making this possible. Our team supports stores by preparing and distributing essential supplies and stock, helping them operate smoothly and continue raising funds. With the capacity to process over 650,000 kilograms of donated goods each year, the Distribution Centre contributes to both sustainability and humanitarian impact — ensuring items are reused or responsibly recycled wherever possible.
As an All‐Rounder Volunteer, you'll be part of the team that keeps this system moving — supporting different areas of the Distribution Centre to ensure stock flows efficiently from donation to store.
Opportunity
As a Distribution Centre All‐Rounder Volunteer, your day may include:
* Sorting donated clothing and merchandise into categories
* Picking and packing store orders accurately
* Assisting with van loading/unloading and supporting local deliveries
* Preparing outbound freight and attaching labels
* Supporting general warehouse tasks such as organising pallets or breaking down cardboard
* Working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to meet daily priorities
* Identifying and reporting hazards in line with Work Health & Safety policies
This is a varied, hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and is happy to move between different tasks as needed.
No prior warehouse experience is required — just reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Impact
By supporting multiple areas of the Distribution Centre, you help ensure stores receive quality stock quickly and safely — enabling them to continue raising funds for humanitarian programs. Your contribution also supports sustainability by keeping goods in circulation and reducing waste. It's practical work with visible results and real community impact.
Application Requirements
* For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.
* Be a minimum of 18 years of age
