Overview
Located within the Office of the Deputy Director-General (ODDG), Business Services, the Senior Business Services Officer – Finance, is responsible for providing high level support to the ODDG team and the division which delivers a range of corporate services including finance, human resources, corporate governance, corporate communications and internal audit functions. Your primary function is to provide high level financial analysis, and support to ensure compliance with Queensland Government policies and procedures. The role also contributes to strategic decision-making by delivering accurate financial insights and advice.

Responsibilities
- Liaise, monitor, negotiate and consult with senior management and work with unit managers and other departmental officers as appropriate to prepare and analyse budget allocation and coordinate and review expenditure and revenue forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Co-ordinate and compile information to facilitate the analysis of budget and financial performance including the on-going monitoring, reviewing and reporting of financial information of the division.
- Provide high level advice to senior team members, management and other key stakeholders and clients on a broad range of strategic and operational financial management policies, procedures, systems, practises and financial management issues.
- Provide advice and support to the division in relation to procurement, financial processing and management of professional contractors and labour hire in accordance with departmental financial and procurement policy and procedures.
- Manage and co-ordinate responses to stocktakes, audits and other corporate governance requirements as required.
- Manage complex workloads, meet deadlines and commitments and complete tasks within a tight timeframe independently or within a team.
- Maintain solid networks with Tourism business units and corporate contacts in other divisions.
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
