Planned Resources is recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in both Brisbane and Perth locations, on behalf of a client who is a privately owned Australian company. The Geotechnical Engineer Role
With an extensive pipeline of upcoming works, we are looking to recruit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our client's team. The role offers you the ability to grow your career with a strong technical team. Reporting into the Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design and analysis activities to ensure that a high standard of quality is achieved. You will also provide technical input to project teams to ensure that technical standards and efficiencies are achieved and that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
Geotechnical Engineer Duties
* Preparation of geotechnical reports and laboratory testing schedules.
* Assessment of slope stability, foundation bearing capacities, settlements, soil liquefaction and seismic deformation.
* Numerical modelling and analysis using software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, and FLAC.
* Design of ground improvement and embankments.
* Supervision of geotechnical site investigations, logging, mapping, and reporting.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and inspections.
Geotechnical Engineer Skills and Experience
* Bachelor degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (Post-grad highly regarded).
* 5 years + relevant work experience within the civil and mining industry.
* Strong expertise in soil mechanics and foundation analysis.
* Previous experience working in a similar role in Australia.
* Familiarity with Slope/W, Plaxis, FLAC, and AutoCAD software.
