Associate Director, Talent and Partnering, Ongoing, Sydney

This role is a salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $149,739 - $173,174 base plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.

Join INSW and play your part in creating a sustainable infrastructure legacy for NSW!

About the role

We're looking for a senior HR leader who thrives in a small, high-impact environment and can comfortably move between strategy and delivery. As Associate Director, Talent and Partnering, you'll be the go-to subject matter expert, partnering with leaders to shape a capable, engaged and high-performing workforce.

You'll lead a small team and a business partnering model that ensures People and Culture has a genuine seat at the table. At the same time, you'll be hands-on, working across everything from workforce strategy and talent acquisition through to complex employee relations and case management.

This is a broad role. You'll lead the end-to-end employee lifecycle experience, oversee the talent and recruitment function, and work closely with the Capability Development team to align initiatives and drive impact.

You'll also play a key role in leading change, both structural and systems-based, bringing people with you and turning strategy into practical, workable outcomes.

About you

You're a confident and credible HR leader who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You're comfortable leading a team while staying close to the detail, and you naturally build trusted relationships with senior leaders.

You bring strong subject matter expertise across HR, including employee relations and workforce strategy, and you're confident navigating complex and sensitive situations. You're equally comfortable coaching leaders through difficult conversations and lifting capability across the organisation.

You have experience leading change and understand how to embed new structures or systems in a way that works in practice. You're analytical, with a strong eye for detail, and use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.

You enjoy working collaboratively and partnering closely with others to deliver joined-up solutions.

In a smaller agency environment, no two days are the same. If you enjoy variety, ownership and the chance to make a real impact, this role offers exactly that.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. For more information, please refer to the role description.
