Technical Data Lead
This role plays a pivotal part in APRA's transformation journey to simplify and better leverage organisational capabilities associated with using data. A key aspect of this journey is the maturing of data management and governance processes and methods.
The technical lead will collaborate with stakeholders to define, estimate and lead transition workstreams that move APRA towards its desired technology landscape. They will also be responsible for selecting and implementing enterprise data management and governance tooling.
This position resides within the Chief Data Office and works closely with other senior technical specialists. The team will report to the Senior Data Stream Lead and exclusively focus on APRA's data transformation program.
Key responsibilities include leading the evaluation and procurement of enterprise data management solutions, defining implementation roadmaps for data management and governance capabilities, acting as a technical SME, leading teams in the rollout and use of enterprise data management and data governance tooling, facilitating workshops and technical discussions, ensuring documentation of architectural decisions, designs, and processes, and experience in working with data governance teams.
About you
* You should have 5+ years of experience as a tech lead or in a related role with a strong focus on modern data architectures and data management.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Experience with deploying data management toolsets at an organisational level.
* Experience and exposure to agile delivery methodologies.
* Strong understanding of governance tools.
* Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data governance, data quality, privacy and security controls.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and propose actionable solutions.
* Experience in regulated industries, with a focus on data protection and compliance.
