Whether through our Early Learning Centres, Outside Hours School Care, Recreation Centres, Aquatic facilities, Youth Programs or within the Remote Pools program we are committed to supporting Territorians in becoming connected, educated, resilient, and healthy.


The Opportunity

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Duty Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of the newly renovated Katherine Aquatic Centre. As the Duty Manager, you will ensure safety, cleanliness, and excellent service for all pool users, while also leading a local team. You'll be responsible for facilitating the continued success of these essential community resources.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage the daily operations of pool in collaboration with local teams.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including pool maintenance and water quality.
* Provide leadership and training to local staff, helping them develop skills in customer service and pool management.
* Engage with the community to promote water safety education and health programs.
* Handle customer service inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.
* Monitor pool facilities and equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance as necessary.
* Be the point of contact for emergency situations and escalated concerns.


Qualifications and Experience

* Experience in pool management, hospitality, or a related field.
* Knowledge of pool maintenance, water quality standards, and health and safety protocols.
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willing to obtain)


Mandatory Requirements

YMCA, including its Boards of Directors, are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

* Valid Working with Children Clearance.
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
