About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a high-performing APAC finance team within a large, complex, and internationally connected organisation. This role sits in a regional head-office environment, offering broad exposure across multiple APAC markets and close collaboration with senior stakeholders both locally and offshore. You'll play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting quality, and supporting regional and global reporting requirements. This role is a 12 month, fixed term contract with a view to move to a permanent ongoing role. The Role Reporting to the APAC Finance Manager, you will be a key contributor to the regional financial accounting and reporting function. You will work closely with local finance teams across APAC, providing oversight, guidance, and support to ensure consistent, high-quality financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Month-End & Core Accounting Perform detailed reviews of APAC market balance sheets to ensure accurate accounting treatment Tie balance sheets to reconciliations and review reconciliations to ensure controls are operating effectively Review, challenge, and improve key financial controls across APAC markets Analyse roll-forward movements to identify unusual or unexpected account activity Review monthly accruals and deferrals, including complex event-driven items Post monthly amortisation journals across multiple entities Prepare head-office journals and balance sheet reconciliations Quarterly & Compliance Prepare balance sheet variance analysis for senior regional and offshore stakeholders Coordinate and prepare quarterly compliance and control disclosures, including review and consolidation of market submissions Support intercompany balance reviews and eliminations Assist with quarterly tax and statutory reporting packs Stakeholder Support & Projects Act as a trusted accounting contact for local finance leaders across APAC Provide guidance on accounting treatment, controls, and systems-related queries Review annual statutory accounts prepared by local markets Support ad-hoc analysis and regional finance projects as required About You Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Currently studying towards CPA or CA qualification 2-3 years' experience in financial accounting or reporting roles Strong balance sheet focus and hands-on month-end experience Advanced Excel and data management skills Confident communicator able to work with stakeholders across different regions and time zones Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously Adaptable, pragmatic, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment Exposure to large ERPs, reporting tools, or US/international accounting standards is advantageous but not essential First and Second movers are encouraged to apply.
