CrewSELECT are supporting our client in their search for a Fabrication Workshop Foreman for our client's Bibra Lake workshop.
Location: Bibra Lake, Perth, WA
Salary: $110K plus super, car and fuel card
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fabrication Foreman to lead a team within our clientn's busy fabrication workshop. Working closely under the direction of the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, management, and completion of fabrication packages, ensuring all projects meet deadlines and quality standards. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage resources efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of tradespeople, ensuring the timely completion of work in line with project requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other Foremen, the workshop team, and project management teams to ensure smooth workflow and alignment with project goals.
- Resource Management: Plan and organize workshop resources, ensuring all materials, tools, and equipment are available to meet deadlines.
- Mentorship: Guide and support apprentices in their development, ensuring they complete their trade training effectively.
- Post-Fabrication Coordination: Liaise closely with the post-fabrication teams to ensure project timelines and targets are met.
- Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, including organizing tasks, checking work quality, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role, ideally in steel fabrication or related industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, including structural steel and mining/commercial steelwork.
- Drawing Interpretation: Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Technology Proficiency: Basic to intermediate computer skills (experience with workshop management systems a plus).
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in structural steel projects is essential.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards within the steel industry.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships across various departments and levels of staff.
