**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Research Fellow in Cyber Security to join School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Academic Division.
This position will undertake research projects funded by the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC), collaborating with its industry partners and other participant universities throughout Australia. Specifically, QUT is host to the CSCRC's Resilient Systems research theme, which focuses on technological solutions to cyber security threats, especially those relating to computer networks. Applicants with research experience in information security, cyber security analysis, communication protocols security analysis, quantum-safe communication protocols, post-quantum cryptography, complex system modelling and related topics are especially welcome.

**About the area**
The position is located in the School of Computer Science which has over 45 academic staff and 1744 equivalent full-time students including over 100 higher degree research (HDR) students. The staff and HDR students lead and conduct research and teaching that has a real world impact, through a focus on innovations that are smart, safe, and satisfying. The School conducts fundamental and applied research into creating better, faster, more secure, and more accessible computing and interactive systems. Our research seeks to support a range of users, including people with diverse abilities, cultures and backgrounds, in interacting safely, effectively and engagingly with data, devices, and each other. Our expertise spans machine learning, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, data and text mining, information security, cloud computing, and augmented and virtual reality. **What you need to succeed**
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated academic research experience as evidenced by publications in high quality research journals and /or presenting high-quality research at relevant conferences.
- Demonstrated research experience in a relevant area of information security such as network security, critical infrastructure security, quantum-safe communications protocols, post-quantum cryptography etc.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and work constructively with a range of collaborators on research projects, including managing time and budgets.
- Experience at conducting research in both academic and industrial contexts is highly desirable.
