Afrimat Logistics, based in Jenkins Mine (Kathu) has a vacancy for an: Operations Manager
Afrimat Logistics is seeking to employ a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to oversee our daily business activities, streamline our processes, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate is an analytical problem‐solver with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency. This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and practical execution. This appointment will be for a permanent position based at Jenkins Mine, Northern Cape. This individual will report to the Managing Director with a dotted line to the Financial Manager.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
* Education: Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field. A post graduate qualification in general management would be advantageous.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in mining or bulk commodities with a multiprovincial or national focus. Experience working with transport management systems (TMS).
* Skills: Strong financial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, Strong understanding of transport operations, fleet management, and route optimisation
* Compliance: Strong understanding of local safety, labour, and compliance regulations.
* Adaptability: Must be able to work in a fast‐paced environment.
* Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kathu/surrounding Northern Cape areas. A valid driver's license is required
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
* Process Optimization: Streamline daily operations, develop and implement strategic policies, and improve overall productivity.
* Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage cross‐functional staff to ensure high performance and a positive work culture.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all operations adhere to company standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
* Budget & Performance: Oversee the operational budget, control costs, resource planning, quotation calculation and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet financial and growth targets.
* Fleet Management: Own Fleet & Subcontractor Fleet
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other departments and build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
