About the role
The Senior Officer Assessments Support is responsible for developing systems, processes, training, and monitoring for projects assessed under Division 5.1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. This role leads the creation of streamlined systems and processes for efficient assessment of Part 5 activities by delegated officers and facilitates discussions with Planning and School Infrastructure to implement these processes.
The Senior Officer Assessments Support also develops training packages to enhance departmental knowledge of systems and responsibilities, supports frameworks to monitor performance, and tracks Part 5 applications to ensure progress towards assessment targets. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies is essential for delivering high-quality customer service.
The Senior Officer Assessments Support prepares comprehensive briefs and reports, reviews processes for continuous improvement, and ensures timely application assessments align with school building priorities while adhering to legislative requirements. Overall, this position focuses on enhancing internal processes and training to support the Department's self-assessment activities in a dynamic educational environment.

Essential requirements of the role
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experiences in Urban and Regional Planning Environmental Management/Environmental Science, Engineering, and Project Management.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
