With the recent achievement of a milestone, the launch of our first software product, we are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for translating customer needs and the product roadmap into actionable requirements for our engineering teams. You will own the product backlog, ensure features are clearly defined and prioritized as well as offer support to our Developers in delivering value to customers.
Key responsibilities include;
- Owning and managing the product backlog for, this includes defining, prioritizing and refining user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ensuring consistency and alignment between roadmap priorities and sprint delivery
- Work closely with Developers, QA and UX/UI to ensure clarity requirements
- Support soring planning, backlog grooming and daily development activities
- Champion the voice of the customer during Sprint activities
- Translate mining customer workflows into functional requirements
- Support the Product Manager in customer workshops, demos and feedback sessions
- Validate delivered features against real-world mining use cases
- Apply mining software knowledge (Deswik, Maptek, Hexagon, Datamine etc) to guide product design
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
- Demonstrated experience in underground mine planning, scheduling or simulation
- Demonstrated experience with a range of mining software – e.g Deswik, Maptek, Hexagon
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or equivalent role in software delivery
- Refined communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience with Agile project tools – e.g Jira, Confluence, AWS & DevOps
- Experience using Figma in a similar role
- Mining Engineer degree ore related technical qualification is desirable not essential
- Experience in mining simulation/optimization/modelling, operations research or underground haulage modelling would be desirable
- Prior experience working with a cloud based or SaaS product
