For a Head Chef or Experienced Senior Sous ready to step up, a unique full-time role combines school canteen management and high-end event catering.
You'll join a respected regional catering business with exclusive rights to historic venues, delivering everything from student lunches to banquets, cocktail events, and weddings for up to 400 guests.
Requires: Minimum 3 years proven leadership in a commercial kitchen, relevant chef qualifications, and current (or willingness to obtain) Working with Children Check and Police Check.
Full Australian working rights required.
Salary guide: $80,000 – $90,000 plus superannuation and paid overtime
Location: Bendigo, Goldfields & Macedon Ranges region
Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening / weekend functions
Your normal day will involve:
Managing daily food service for a busy school canteen (7am–3pm hours)
Preparing premium catering for weddings, corporate events, and functions
Designing menus including canapés, 2 and 3 course dinners, and buffets
Overseeing stock, ordering, and food cost management
Collaborating with the Director on menu planning and pricing
Supervising and upskilling a loyal kitchen hand team (2–3 staff)
Maintaining hygiene and safety standards under council contract requirements
Representing the brand across Bendigo's top venues with consistent quality
