Job Description

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement water management strategies to ensure sustainable operations.
* Provide technical leadership and expertise in mine water management, including groundwater and surface water investigations.
* Establish and maintain governance frameworks for water management processes in collaboration with stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate water management into broader operational goals.
* Monitor and report on water management performance and compliance with regulations.
* Ensure strict adherence to financial policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
* Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets aligned with mine plans.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and manufacturing department.

The Successful Applicant

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in the fields of: Mining Engineering, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology / Hydrogeology / Earth Sciences or Environmental Science
* 7+ years extensive mining background with expertise in mine water systems, dewatering, and regulated structures.
* Proficient in mining‐related software packages and digital tools, with strong computer literacy supporting technical modelling and project delivery.
* Demonstrated expertise in planning, specification, design, procurement, and commissioning of mining projects, particularly bulk water and technical services initiatives.
* Comprehensive knowledge of mining legislation, regulatory frameworks, and licence conditions, with proven ability to operate in full compliance with QA, HSEC, and governance procedures.
* Effective collaborator who integrates seamlessly within multidisciplinary mining teams while maintaining the ability to work independently on critical technical tasks.
* Skilled in high‐level decision‐making, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing operational demands in complex mining environments.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective engagement with suppliers, contractors, regulators, and cross‐functional mining teams.
* Proven project management capability, ensuring technically complex mining projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget.
