About the Role:
This role involves coordinating customer service, exhibitions, visitor programs, and events.
As the first point of contact for visitors, you will provide information about tourist attractions, oversee staff and volunteers, coordinate museum development, exhibitions and displays, and help promote tourism in the region.
* Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of displays, exhibitions, and memorabilia.
* Create visitor packages, programs, and events that cater to diverse interests.
* Manage the merchandising of museum products, stock control, and point-of-sale operations.
* Lead guided tours and support community activities that foster engagement with local culture.
* Maintain accurate visitor statistics and reporting systems.
* Identify opportunities for partnerships, events, and funding initiatives that align with our goals.
* Assist in developing exhibition calendars and programs that showcase our collections.
* Coordinate launch events, networking nights, and seasonal displays that attract a wider audience.
* Support marketing, promotions, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the museum experience.
* Lead, train, and support staff and volunteers to ensure exceptional customer service.
* Collaborate with other Council departments to support tourism activities and cross-venue programs.
