The Role
We are seeking a HC Delivery Driver to join our Lindsay Rural branch in Mareeba for local delivery work. This is a casual position, working various hours across Monday to Friday. During the current busy season, we have plenty of work to keep you busy and earning.
This is a physically demanding position as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading and transportation of customer goods and merchandise to and from customer properties.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and unload merchandise to rural worksites.
* Assist in loading/unloading and load restraint as required to prevent freight movement and allow for safe transport.
* Maintain logs of deliveries, obtaining signatures for deliveries made.
* Communicate with the warehouse or pickup point for any special instructions.
* Interact with customers in a professional manner, representing the company.
* Perform in‑store counter sales as required.
About You
* A current HC Licence as a minimum.
* A current forklift licence.
* Previous experience as a delivery driver ideally in a retail environment.
* Always have a safety focus to ensure your safety, your colleagues and customers & public, along with an ongoing commitment to safe driving practices.
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
* Be well presented, professional and reliable.
* Experience in a rural worksites or engaging with rural clients is highly regarded.
Requirements
* Pass a Commercial Driver's Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test.
* Provide a current traffic print‑out.
* Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position – this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day; repetitive bending & lifting of rural merchandise when loading & unloading at the branch and on farm.
