**New Role: Logistics Coordinator**
**Duties & Accountabilities**:
- Coordinate specific customer requirements for Road Freight.
- Follow road freight operations procedures that are implemented by the management team or project manager
- Develop road freight opportunities for the business through existing and potential clients
- Arrange quotes and pricing structures, rates and price estimates as required,
- Negotiate rates with subcontractors in line with service requirements,
- Inform clients of factors such as transport options, timelines and regulations affecting transport arrangements,
- Regularly follow up on freight shipments and notify clients of transport progress,
- Prepare and send invoices using CargoWise software platform,
- Check, negotiate where necessary and approve subcontractor invoices for payment,
- Develop operations procedures to effectively manage scheduled project logistics Australia wide,
- Attend to Quality Management System (QMS) Inductions
- Ensure that processes needed for the QMS are actively completed and maintained,
- Report Non-conformances, changes or any customer complaint if required,
- Arrange the legal, efficient and cost-effective transportation of cargo,
- Liaise with customers and suppliers daily,
- Manage delivery date request to ensure no delivery delays, if delays occur update clients immediately,
- Assist with general office and warehouse duties as requested
**What you'll need to succeed**
- A minimum of two years' experience in Logistics Coordinator/freight forwarding/ shipping industry is required;
- Provide complete and timely status/performance updates as requested by your Manager
- Provide advice in relation to your areas of competence when requested by your Manager and colleagues
- Keep colleagues, Managers, supervisors and stakeholders informed on matters that may impact performance and seek to resolve issues before they escalate
- Develop productive working relationships to ensure a combined team-based approach
- Participate in performance and development reviews in accordance with corporate personal performance and development planning
- Share information in a timely manner to assist colleagues achieve their goals and objectives.
- Extensive knowledge of Mass, Dimension and Load Restraint compliance
- Sound knowledge of Fatigue Management, NHVAS and Chain of Responsibility systems
- Professionally dedicated, flexible, a willingness to learn and with skills to adapt to changing environments
- Well organised with the ability to set priorities, make decisions and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to working as a member of a team and operating within a dynamic environment under constant change
