About the role
We are currently seeking a Business Unit Manager for the Mackay Laboratory. As the Laboratory Business Unit Manager, your areas of focus will be to manage the operations of the laboratory, drive a positive Health, Safety and Environment culture, manage quality processes and systems, conduct business development and key account management, oversee financial management, and lead team management.
Responsibilities
Managing laboratory operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Driving a positive HSE culture across all activities.
Overseeing quality processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Business development, key account management, and financial stewardship.
Requirements
* Experience and knowledge in the applications of Quality Systems
* Business management experience in a technical and service oriented environment
* Sound knowledge and experience in the application of commercial models, systems and processes
* The ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor and train staff
* Tertiary qualification in Science or Financial discipline is preferred
* Advanced business and operational planning skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage service and project delivery across functional groups
* Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
* An understanding and commitment to QHSE requirements
* Coal laboratory experience would be beneficial but not essential
