Administrative Assistant - Medical Front Desk

Greet patients and provide basic clinical care in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience performing clerical tasks, patient check-in, insurance verification, and some clinical experience in a healthcare setting.

About the Role:
\
* Promptly greet patients in the waiting area, exam rooms, and laboratory or x-ray rooms.
* Answer patient inquiries and direct them through the registration process.
* Manage multi-line phones, filing, faxing, scanning documentation, and completing daily patient callbacks.
* Check in and discharge patients, assist clinical staff, and close the office at the end of each shift.
* Collect all insurance information, verify patient demographics, process payments, post patient balances, and complete phone sheets.
* Communicate wait times to patients and provide direction to the next step in the treatment process.
* Solve patient problems and recognize emergent/hazardous situations.
* Make follow-up calls with urgency.
* Document patient vital signs and weight, take brief history, past medical, family, and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information as needed.
* Assist with patient transfers and procedures directly supervised by the provider.
* Maintain accurate documentation related to patient visits and ensure patient areas remain neat and tidy throughout the day.
* Perform cash and check reconciliation and nightly deposit drop-offs.
* Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance.

Requirements:
\
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* One year of experience performing clerical tasks in a medical office setting.
* Minimum one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
* Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience.
* Basic computer software knowledge and ability to learn electronic medical records.
* BLS Certification.
