Who's hiring?
Polyaire is Australia's Preferred HVAC Wholesaler—and with good reason. For more than 26 years, this proudly family-owned business has been setting the benchmark in manufacturing and distributing high-quality air conditioning products across Australia and beyond. Headquartered in Adelaide, Polyaire is recognised widely for its innovation, reliability, and service excellence. That reputation doesn't just apply to the products—it extends to the people, too. Now, we're seeking a Financial Controller who's ready to partner with our CFO and help drive the next chapter of Polyaire's growth.
The opportunity
As Financial Controller, you'll oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting while safeguarding company assets through robust internal controls. You'll also lead and develop the finance team, driving performance, enhancing efficiency, and aligning outcomes with Polyaire's strategic goals.
Here's what a typical week might look like:
* Leading the finance team's daily operations—keeping ledgers, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and payroll on track.
* Partnering with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial analysis, and performance improvements.
* Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Keeping Polyaire on the right side of compliance—whether it's BAS, GST, FBT, IFRS 16, Payment Times, or Sustainability Reporting.
* Overseeing statutory and tax obligations, monitoring changes to legislation and accounting standards, and providing guidance to the CFO and executive team.
* Managing treasury and banking requirements
* Leading the integration of newly acquired businesses—aligning accounting policies, consolidations, and reporting systems.
* Overseeing risk management and internal controls to safeguard company assets and support sustainable growth.
* Using your systems smarts (ERP, Excel) to optimise processes, drive efficiencies, and maintain financial system integrity.
* Collaborating with teams across Operations, Supply Chain, HR, IT, and Marketing to ensure finance supports the whole business.
* Leading, mentoring, and developing your finance team, helping them grow their skills and careers.
Is this you?
This role will suit a finance professional who is ready to operate at a higher level, and keen to play a pivotal role in shaping Polyaire's growth story. You'll bring:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
* CA/CPA qualification and strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian Business Standards.
* Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a commercial or manufacturing environment.
* Experience in financial reporting, compliance, treasury, and financial leadership.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn numbers into business insights.
* Proven track record in managing internal controls and audit processes.
* Strong systems knowledge, in particular ERP and Excel (epicor will be an advantage).
* A proactive, collaborative mindset—you're as comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help the team as you are advising the CFO.
What's on offer
* Work closely with an experienced CFO and play a key role in the company's ongoing growth.
* Genuine career development opportunities in a thriving, family-run business.
* Low staff turnover and a supportive, collaborative culture.
* Secure onsite parking.
* Work–life balance that's respected.
