About the Role and Opportunity
Quarantine Inspector – Dampier, WA – Toll is seeking a Quarantine Inspector to support operations at our Dampier Supply Base, ensuring full compliance with quarantine, biosecurity and Barrow Island requirements. This role is ideal for someone safety‐driven, detail‐focused and passionate about maintaining high standards in a critical operational environment.
You'll support our Quarantine Lead, Operations Supervisor and Superintendent to ensure freight, equipment and facilities meet strict quarantine and biosecurity regulations. You'll help maintain compliance, oversee safe handling of freight, and ensure all activities align with Toll's Quarantine Management Plan. This is a hands‐on, fast‐paced role where you'll work autonomously and as part of a high‐performing team to keep our supply base operations running safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all quarantine tasks are completed on time, to a high standard, and in alignment with regulations, policies and procedures.
* Maintain compliance with Toll's Quarantine Management Plan and Barrow Island requirements.
* Identify, action and report any non‐compliant quarantine freight or facility issues.
* Accurately record receipts in customer databases and report discrepancies within 24 hours.
* Maintain strong customer relationships and keep stakeholders informed.
* Promote and uphold safety at all times, ensuring correct PPE use and adherence to site safety rules.
* Actively participate in HSE programs, risk management, and incident reporting.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 6 months experience in a quarantine, fumigation, or biosecurity environment.
* Understanding of freight handling (LTL/LCL, FTL/FCL) and safe load restraint principles.
* Familiarity with freight documentation (dockets, consignment notes, packing lists).
* Strong commitment to safety, compliance and environmental protection.
* Ability to operate or willingness to learn MHE and digital inspection tools (e.g., iAuditor).
