Mechanic (Leading Hand)
Location: Tamworth, NSW
Opportunity
Salary range: Grade 11 – $70,420.20 – $76,196.37 per annum plus superannuation and tool allowance for a 38 hour work week. Tool allowance and salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and value to the organisation.
The Plant and Fleet Division is looking for a reliable individual with mechanical experience in various plant and equipment. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing the Council's fleet. Success requires punctuality, courtesy, safety awareness and teamwork.
Responsibilities
* Undertake maintenance, repair and servicing of Council's plant, vehicle fleet and sundry plant and equipment.
* Carry out NSW RMS safety inspections.
* Assist the Workshop scheduler in the supervision, control and provision of technical advice and support to a small team of Plant Mechanics and/or Apprentices; including planning, programming and reviewing work performed to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service.
* Provide supervision, coordination and technical advice and support to Plant Mechanics and/or Apprentices; including mentoring/coaching and day‐to‐day conflict resolution, performance management and discipline.
Qualifications
* Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate or equivalent.
* Minimum current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
Working Arrangements
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
Pre‐employment medical screening, including alcohol & other drugs testing, will be required for shortlisted applicants.
