We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing support to clients with disabilities, enabling them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide transportation assistance to clients.
* Offer respite care to clients and their families.
* Maintain accurate records of client care plans and progress.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care team.
* Ensure client safety and well-being by following health and safety regulations.
* Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the field.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion.
* Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities.
* Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
* Strong understanding of disability support and its guidelines.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding different support needs based on abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
* Basic care and first aid skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
