WoodMaster Portable Buildings, a division of Tuff Shed, the industry leader in storage buildings, is seeking a Carpenter - Painting/Trim at our plant in Cobden, IL. We are looking for motivated, team-oriented individuals!
The Carpenter - Painting/Trim will be based at our manufacturing plant in Cobden, IL, and will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and ensuring the quality of wooden structures through precise measurement, cutting, and assembly, while adhering to safety standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities include:
* Installing and repairing molding and trim on windows, doors, baseboards, mantels, and other ornamental pieces.
* Applying a thorough understanding of measurements and precision for a seamless finish.
* Reading and following blueprints and building plans.
* Using hand and power tools such as squares, rules, and chisels.
* Working with materials like wood, vinyl, fiberglass, and metal.
* Fitting and installing window frames and interior/exterior trim with a carpenter's level.
* Finishing surfaces of woodwork using paint and hand tools.
* Verifying structural accuracy with a carpenter's level.
* Wearing appropriate protective gear and following safety procedures.
* Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
* Assisting with other duties in the carpentry manufacturing process, including erecting siding, electrical work, flooring, framing, roofing, and more.
Skills & Experience:
* Knowledge of hand and power tools.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to perform painting tasks.
* Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly over a distance of 100 feet.
