Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse – Clinical Nurse Consultant
Location: Sunshine or Footscray Campus
Employment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Salary: Clinical Consultant C (CAPR 4.1 or 4.2) – As per Nurses & Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) EBA
About The Role
Western Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Consultant to take on the pivotal role of Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse. In this role, you will provide expert, evidence-based, person-centred care and support to patients with prostate cancer from diagnosis through to survivorship or end-of-life care. As the key point of contact for patients, families, and care teams, you will drive clinical excellence, education, and quality improvement initiatives while working collaboratively across multidisciplinary services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead nurse-led clinics to assess, educate and support patients throughout their cancer journey.
* Deliver high-quality clinical care and coordinate referrals for supportive services.
* Act as a key clinical resource for prostate cancer care across Western Health.
* Implement and evaluate quality improvement initiatives.
* Represent Western Health at local and national forums on prostate cancer care.
About You
* Registered Nurse with AHPRA and experience in a senior clinical role (CNS or above).
* 5 years' experience in prostate cancer, urology, or oncology nursing is highly desirable
* Working towards or completed postgraduate studies in cancer or urological nursing.
* Excellent clinical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
