Clinical Nurse – Mental Health (Nurse level 3) - Darwin/Palmerston, Katherine, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy (Full-time/Part-time/Casual) - Ongoing/Fixed for up to 18 months
Employing well developed knowledge, skills and experience in mental health case management the successful applicant will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality holistic care for people with mental health issues. Eligibility to practice as a Designated Mental Health Practitioner under the NT Mental Health and Related Services Act (1998) is required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Key duties and responsibilities: Nurse Level 3
* Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective evidence-based nursing/midwifery care to achieve identified individual/group health outcomes.
* Provide leadership and care coordination across a shift and act as a resource to other members of staff within a designated portfolio e.g. education, NSQHS Standard.
* Accountable for the planning, provision, and communication of nursing/midwifery care, including the evaluation and required revision of practice.
* Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
* Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria:
Essential
* Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
* Demonstrated well-developed knowledge, skills and experience in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills.
* Demonstrated ability to act as a clinical resource person and role model, including mentoring and preceptoring less experienced staff and students.
* Demonstrated contribution to the development and implementation of local activities beyond direct client care e.g. clinical education, assist in management, research/quality assurance activities.
* Demonstrated effective communication skills to achieve positive outcomes, including maintaining productive multi-disciplinary working relationships, effectively dealing with challenging behaviours, and resolving conflicts.
* Demonstrated well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care provision for clients and families.
Desirable
* Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice in relevant specialty area.
