SEM are seeking an operations manager to direct and lead our Field Operations team - delivering strategic and operational leadership for an organisation that values delivering positive change to our environment. About SEM and the role SEM are based at Taradale in Central Victoria providing environmental services for both public and private clients. Our small team of 14 provide a range of services including; prescribed burning, weed management, reserve management, tree planting and revegetation, track maintenance and construction, as well as vegetation surveys and services. The Operations Manager leads the daily operations of our field teams, plans the weekly work schedule, directs and instructs on new projects, is the contact point for Crew Leaders and staff, assists the manager with quoting and client liaison and maintains our high standard of safety and work quality. This is a full-time role, reporting to the Manager and based predominantly at our office in Taradale. About you To be successful in this role you will be a proven leader with experience leading teams to achieve a high standard of Land management services. You thrive in working in a fast-paced environment with an operational workload, where safety, compliance, financial sustainability and continuous improvement are key priorities. You will have a broad range of experience working in the environmental field, with a solid grounding in hands on work. We are looking for a troubleshooter that can fix a spray rig and then do a professional quote for a client, or organise the teams for the day, contact a client and then do the odd job that is too small to send a team to do. capable and adaptive. You will be a good communicator, highly motivated, organised, open to new technology and ideas and able to run projects on time and to budget.
